Bookish news! | THE MONTHLY BOOKISH #1

themonthlybookish

Hello everyone! Today is the first part of my new bookish news segment called The Monthly Bookish. Every month (if all goes well) I’ll be rounding up all the bookish news that has taken the internet by storm and showcasing them in a post. Think of it as a newspaper, but only for bookish people.

Sidenote: I know people have done (and are doing) this before, but I promise I’m not copying them. I’ve had and wanted to do this idea for a long time now, so I just decided now is the time to do it.

So let’s get into all the bookish news for the month!

1. The Hate U Give trailer was released

The Hate U Give, written by Angie Thomas, had its trailer released. I personally haven’t seen it yet, because I want to read the book before I see any part of the movie, but I urge you guys to check it out. This book has been on the #1 NY Times bestseller list for 72 weeks now, which is so amazing. The link to watch the trailer is here.

2. To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before teaser trailer was released

This month there was also the trailer release of Jenny Han’s popular contemporary, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. This book is exactly what you’d expect from a cute summery YA contemporary, and more. And I think the trailer is so great as well; it perfectly captures the book, and adds its own funny flair. The trailer can be seen here.

3. Children Of Blood And Bone by Tomi Adeyemi is picked as Jimmy Fallon’s first book club pick

Everyone has heard of this book by now. It was called the next Harry Potter, it got tons of promoting everywhere, AND it got a movie deal before it was even released. And now it’s been picked as the first book in Jimmy Fallon’s new book club. Well done Tomi! Here’s the video of it being revealed.

4. The cover for Kingdom of Ash was revealed

Kingdom of Ash, which is the seventh and final book in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Mass, had its cover revealed this month, and it looks stunning. I personally prefer the UK cover to the US, but they both look great. Be sure to pick up a copy when it comes out!

5. Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman release the title of their new book project

Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman, who’ve collaborated in the past to create the Illuminae Files Trilogy, released the title of their new series this month. It is called Aurora Rising and is already the #1 new release on Amazon (in the ya science fiction and dystopian romance section). The link to preorder the first book is right here.

Okay, so those are all the things I’m showing you today. There aren’t a lot of things, but this is the first time I’m doing something like this, so I just wanted to test it out and iron out any kinks. If you have any bookish news you think is cool, please tell me in the comments and I’ll add them to the next Monthly Bookish.

I hope you enjoyed the first part in this new segment, and I’d love it if you could tell me your opinions of this down below, and if there’s anything you want me to change and/or fix. I hope you all have a great day and I’ll see you next time. Bye!
