January Wrap-up | The first month is gone!

Hey guys! So yesterday I gave you my February tbr, and today it is time for my January Wrap up! I read three books in January, which might be great or terrible for some people, but for me it was just normal. I’m actually quite proud of what I read in January, and since I read like a slug going up the wrong escalator, I’m also glad about the amount I read. So here is what I read.

1. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The original screenplay by J. K. Rowling

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

I gave this book a 5 out of five, and I really enjoyed it. I liked the light-heartedness of it and it felt like a carefree adventure. I had already watched the movie before I read this book, back in 2016, so this book was giving me all these cool flashbacks. I liked all the characters (Especially Newt and Jacob) and if there is another screenplay made available to the public, I may read it. After reading this book, I wanted to watch the movie so badly, so I put it on hold from my library, and when it came in I was so excited. And while I was watching it, I could immediately tell what was about to happen and what character was going to say what, which was pretty cool.

2. The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

This book is different in every single way to Fantastic Beasts, but let me just say that I LOVED this book. It was an easy 5 stars for me and I liked every single aspect of it. I’ve actually written a whole review of this book so if you would like to check it out, the link is here. It was actually after this that my whole “I need to read fantasy and only fantasy” mood kicked in. So that was a bit of a bummer, but I just need to ride this wave out of here, and then I’ll be fine. I think I’m already coming out of it already, so woohoo!

3. The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert

Rating: 3.75 out of 5 stars

Okay, to be completely honest with you, I didn’t finish this book in January. I was reading this book on my kindle (I had an e-arc) and I had 8% left of it to go when the clock struck midnight. So technically I finished at 12:45 on the morning of February first, but I’m counting it as January so lalala not listening *sticks fingers in ears*. I also have a review for this book out (woo look at me go) so if you would like to see that, click here! I gave this book 3.75 stars out of 5. It was a good book, but it wasn’t really, mind-blowingly amazing. If you want to know what things I didn’t like about his book, just click the link above.

So that is it for my January Wrap up! I hope you enjoyed this little post and I will see you soon (hopefully) with a tag! Bye for now!
