The Giver By Lois Lowry

My sister had this book on her shelf for a while now and I never really thought of reading it. I AM SO ASHAMED OF POSTPONING READING THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!! The giver was by far the best book I had read all year.
I read the book in a day and I was swamped with so many emotions that it was amazing. I felt curiosity, I felt happiness and, more than once, I felt sadness. There were times when I was reading, particularly the ending, when I was almost brought to tears. That was how moving The Giver was to me.

I am rambling a bit so I’m just going to tell you what it’s about.

It’s about this boy named Jonas who has been selected to be a Receiver of Memories, so every day he goes to this specific place where this man called The Giver gives him memories.
What the book is really about is just him coping with the memories.

I thought the book was so well done, I could almost feel his memories and feel exactly what he was going through.

If anyone hasn’t read this book, YOU HAVE TO READ IT!!!!

  1. Hi Chelsea. I recently read The Giver for the first time as well. I had no idea what the story was about so I put blind faith into hoping it was going to be good. Wow! was amazed, I had finished it within a few hours and really, really enjoyed it. I'll have to check out the sequel soon.
